Design & Construct Pavement Rehabilitation and Asphalt Works

Description: The project involved upgrading the heavily trafficked intersection of Lowood Minden Road, Zabels Road, and Oscar Road to improve safety, traffic flow, and accessibility. Brown Contractors implemented a phased approach to minimize disruptions, effectively accommodating an AADT volume of 6,100 vehicles per day.

Scope:

• Excavation of 2,000m³ of material for disposal.

• Importing and placement of quarry gravel.

• Laying 680 tonnes of asphalt to enhance durability.

• Application of sealing and line marking.

• Installation of road furniture.

Challenges:

• Poor subgrade conditions required careful management.

• Utility service conflicts addressed successfully.

• Maintaining continuous traffic flow through phased construction, temporary lane diversions, and comprehensive traffic control measures.
